Known Issues
My Tumblr inbox says it contains more messages than it actually contains. This is a known issue. That message count gets my hopes up, making me feel interesting and curiosity-inducing, until I click through and see that I am not as interesting or curiosity-inducing as I thought. Then my self-satisfaction ticks downward, just a smidge. This is a known issue.

This was said, quite casually, in Monday’s session of our Nobilis game campaign (by the player portraying the power of Hope) and I have been thinking about it a lot since then. It is not a new idea but for whatever this particular bullet made it through my vest and struck me.

I’ve just finished trimming down a very short story of mine that messes with some of the components of Hamlet to create a petty little crime scene. In doing so, I have rediscovered how hard it is to title a story based on a passage from Hamlet—most of them are already the titles of other things.
