I thought I might try one of those daily projects where you take a picture of yourself every day. Some would be frank, some would be arty, some would be experimental. Then I realized that, first of all, I don’t want to look at myself that much some days. So it’s only a matter of time until I’d just be taking snapshots of myself every day with Photobooth instead of conjuring up new and interesting ways to portraitize myself. Then, sometime around March, I imagine, I’d miss a day or two and that would threaten the structural integrity of the whole thing. Along the way, I’d be fretting about the pictures when I should be doing other work. They’d become a distraction instead of an inspiration.
So I’m not doing that.
